Class Description

Bellydance Choreography I

Bellydance Choreography I class is where DWJ students learn their first dances. The class focuses on learning a routine to a particular piece of music and is an excellent introduction to the many styles that make up bellydancing. Benefits include weight loss, muscle toning, flexibility, stress reduction, and feminine empowerment. There are no pre-requisites prior to level I classes, but many find taking some technique classes beforehand to be helpful. Experienced dancers are also welcome. Weekly attendance and rehearsal between classes is necessary in order to truly learn the material and get the most benefit. Students are led through a warm-up, strengthening and stretching exercises, combinations which build into the routine, and a cool down. This is a great class for those looking for a fun way to exercise, students wishing to refine their dancing ability, and dancers wanting to build a performance repertoire.
